ZONE is a fitness brand designed to empower individuals through strength, focus, and resilience. The brand needed a visual identity that would appeal to a high-energy audience and convey a sense of power and precision.
ZONE’s visual identity embraces a bold design aesthetic, encapsulating focus, power, and determination. The logo’s rectangular border and dynamic line through the ‘O’ serve as visual metaphors for endurance and breaking limits, aligning with the brand’s mission to inspire individuals to reach new heights in their fitness journeys.

Design process:
The vision for ZONE was to develop a bold, energetic brand that captures the intensity and focus of gym culture while ensuring it stands out across various media and applications. The process was divided into key phases:
Discovery and Concept Development:
We began by working closely with the client to understand their values, goals, and target audience. ZONE’s desired attributes - strength, endurance, and innovation were central themes in our discussions. Through these insights, we defined a brand message focused on breaking barriers and pushing limits, which guided our design direction.




Initial Sketches and Logo Exploration:
Early sketches experimented with different forms that could capture the brand’s powerful and active personality. We arrived at a bold rectangular border to signify structure and resilience, paired with a striking line through the “O” in ZONE, symbolizing action and focus. This design choice became the signature element, adding a sense of movement and boundary-breaking to the logo.
Typography and Colour Palette Selection:
Selecting the right typography was crucial for ZONE’s brand personality. After testing several options, we chose a robust, geometric sans-serif font that conveys strength and simplicity. The colour palette of intense blacks, white and deep greys, enhances the brand’s bold, no-nonsense appeal while staying versatile for both digital and physical applications.

Mockups and Applications:
ZONE’s design is versatile across a range of physical and digital formats, maintaining its bold impact regardless of the medium. We created various mockups to showcase the adaptability and consistency of the brand.







Final Refinements and Brand Guidelines:
After finalizing the designs, we documented the essential elements into brand guidelines, including logo variations, colour codes, typography rules, and layout recommendations. This ensured that the ZONE identity could be consistently applied across all touchpoints, aligning with the brand’s high-energy and focused ethos.
Lessons learned:
The ZONE project reinforced the importance of a strong, adaptable brand identity that consistently represents the brand’s mission and values across different touchpoints. Working on ZONE highlighted the value of visual consistency and simplicity, even within bold, high-energy design aesthetics. I learned the significance of testing brand applications early to ensure design elements retain impact on various platforms, enhancing user engagement and brand recall. This project further emphasized how targeted, strategic branding can foster meaningful connections and customer loyalty in a visually saturated market.
